Khulna: Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Mohammad Zahidul Hasan has announced that strict surveillance will be ensured at every polling center through the deployment of CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras during the voting process tomorrow.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the commissioner revealed this plan during a briefing parade held at the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Police Lines ground in the Boyra area. This measure is part of efforts to ensure a peaceful, free, and fair conduct of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and Referendum-2026. The commissioner emphasized that alongside the police, members of the Army, Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), and Ansar will be actively deployed to maintain order and security.
The Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner noted that this election marks a significant moment for Bangladesh, as it is the first historic election the police will witness in 54 years of independence. He highlighted the recent massive influx of people at railway stations and highways, indicating a strong public enthusiasm for exercising their voting rights.
The commissioner compared this phenomenon to the movement of people during Eid, stating that millions are returning to their homes ahead of the election to cast their votes. He viewed this as a reflection of public confidence in their ability to vote without hindrance and stressed that maintaining this trust is the primary responsibility of law enforcement agencies.
The commissioner assured that there would be direct support from the field in case of any emergencies. He also highlighted the cooperative attitude among contesting candidates in Khulna metropolis, emphasizing the commitment to providing a festive, safe, and secure voting environment for the general public.
