Nandail:State Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Yasser Khan Choudhury, MP, has announced that strict actions will be enforced against any irregularities in the Family Card programme.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the minister made this statement during the inauguration of field-level information collection under the Family Card programme at Kadirabad Government Primary School in Moazzempur Union, Nandail upazila, Mymensingh. This initiative follows Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's election commitment to introduce the Family Card, with activities now in progress to adhere to this promise.

Choudhury emphasized that no irregularities will be tolerated in selecting beneficiaries or collecting information for the programme. The government has deployed trained personnel to gather data on families' socioeconomic conditions, ensuring that each household is visited for information collection.

Beneficiary families will be determined through a verification and scrutiny process of the collected data. The minister stressed that there is no need to seek recommendations or pay money to be included in the Family Card beneficiary list. He urged all involved to remain vigilant to ensure that no eligible family is overlooked during this process.

Family Card holders are set to receive Taka 2,500 monthly from the government via mobile financial services. This support aims to help women cover medical expenses, start small businesses, and fulfill personal needs, thereby supporting their journey towards financial self-reliance.

The event was attended by local BNP leaders, including Nandail Upazila BNP Member Secretary Enamul Kadir, Senior Joint Convener Mizanur Rahman Liton, Joint Convener Babu Pallab Roy, BNP leader Abul Khayer Babul, and Municipal BNP Member Secretary Rafiquzzaman Bhuiyan Moni.
