Dhaka: The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau is set to hold its first media networking session and B2B roadshow in Dhaka on April 5-6, aiming to boost tourism ties and attract travelers from Bangladesh.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the initiative by the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau signifies an important step in strengthening bilateral tourism cooperation and enhancing destination awareness within Bangladesh. The event is expected to highlight Sri Lanka’s diverse tourism offerings, including leisure, culture, wellness, and adventure, to a wider audience in the Bangladeshi market.
The Media Networking Session on April 5 is anticipated to bring together leading media representatives to showcase Sri Lanka’s attractions. This session aims to deepen media engagement and generate broader destination publicity among the Bangladeshi audience.
On the following day, a Roadshow (B2B) and Networking Evening will take place, with the participation of around 150 Bangladeshi travel agents and tour operators. This event will facilitate direct interaction with Sri Lankan tourism stakeholders at Le M©ridien Dhaka, fostering connections and potential collaborations.
The Sri Lankan delegation will be led by SLTPB Chairman Buddhika Hewawasam and Assistant Director (South Asia) Shirani Herath, accompanied by representatives from 19 tourism companies. This delegation seeks to establish long-term partnerships and strengthen Sri Lanka’s presence in the Bangladeshi travel and media sectors.
Sri Lanka recorded 59,563 tourist arrivals from Bangladesh in 2025, with 11,079 visitors registered until March 31 this year, highlighting steady growth potential in tourism exchanges between the two countries.
