Dhaka: After cricket and football, various sports federations are gearing up to celebrate the Festival of Youth-2025, which is being organized with the theme 'Let's change the country, Let's change the World' to unite the nation. The event is orchestrated by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and supervised by the Chief Adviser's Office, in collaboration with BPL-2025, to promote sports among the youth through different communities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, numerous federations including the Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation, Bangladesh Athletics Federation, and Bangladesh Archery Federation are enthusiastically preparing to celebrate the Festival of Youth. The Bangladesh Kabaddi Federation plans to organize a nationwide U-18 age group tournament for both boys and girls, spanning from upazila to national levels, aiming to identify and train promising players from the grassroots.
The Bangladesh Athletics Federation will conduct Inter-District and Inter-Divisional Athletics competitions across the country, while the Bangladesh Archery Federation's plans include an archery rally, a blood donation drive, and an open competition. The Bangladesh Hockey Federation intends to host a five-aside tournament, although dates are yet to be finalized.
Furthermore, the Bangladesh Squash Federation is set to hold workshops, a women's league, and a coaching program, with a women's league scheduled for February. The Bangladesh Badminton Federation will organize a U-19 tournament in Dhaka, and the Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation will host a two-day U-17 competition.
The Bangladesh Cycling Federation aims to conduct a day-long cycling event, while the Bangladesh Swimming Federation will oversee water polo and diving competitions. The Bangladesh Handball Federation and the Bangladesh Women's Sports Association have also outlined plans for various competitions and events to commemorate the festival.
Overall, the Festival of Youth-2025 is expected to be a significant event, encouraging youth participation in sports and fostering a sense of unity and enthusiasm across the nation.
