Sports, Cultural Activities Key to Student Development: KCC Administrator

Khulna: Khulna City Corporation (KCC) Administrator Md Mokhter Ahmed emphasized the importance of sports and cultural activities in fostering students’ creativity and ensuring their physical and mental well-being.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Md Mokhter Ahmed highlighted that engaging in sports helps students remain energetic, enhances their intellect, and boosts creativity, which collectively assists in steering them away from drug abuse and other social challenges. He stressed the necessity for students to actively participate in sports alongside their academic endeavors to achieve success in life.

Md Mokhter Ahmed delivered these insights while serving as the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony for the annual sports and cultural competition at KCC-run Khulna Collegiate Girls’ School and KCC Women’s College. He praised the institution as a prominent center for women’s education in Bangladesh, offering the opportunity for female students to complete their education from primary through honors level on the same campus.

During the event, he carefully listened to the students’ various demands and expressed optimism that any existing issues would be gradually addressed under the guidance of the newly appointed principal. Following his speech, Md Mokhter Ahmed distributed prizes to the winners of the competitions.

The day’s activities commenced with KCC Chief Executive Officer Rajib Ahmed inaugurating the sports competition by releasing balloons and festoons. The event was chaired by Principal Professor Dr. Md Shahidur Rahman and featured addresses from notable figures including KCC Chief Engineer Mashiuzzaman Khan, Khulna University Controller Sheikh Sarafat Ali, KMP Deputy Police Commissioner Abdullah Al Masum, Senior Assistant Secretary of the Divisional Commissioner’s Office Md Amirul Arafat, Sadar Thana Secondary Education Officer Md Abdul Momin, KCC Administrative Officer Molla Maruf Rashid, and Shahana Jahan, a guardian member of the institution’s management committee.
