Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Dr Shirin Sharmin
Chaudhury today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of former member
of the parliament (MP) from Jhenaidah-2 constituency and one of the key
organiser of the Liberation War Nur-e-Alam Siddique.
In a condolence message, the Speaker recalled the contribution of Siddique
who had been actively contributed in all the then political activities
including language movement, six-point movement and the Liberation War.
Dr Shirin Sharmin prayed for eternal peace of the veteran freedom fighter's
departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to his bereaved family.
Nur-e-Alam Siddique, former Chattra League
President and Convenor of Swadhin Bangla Chattra Sangram Parishad, died this
morning while undergoing treatment in the city's United Hospital at the age
of 82.
He left behind his wife, two sons, a daughter and a host of relatives to
mourn his death.
