DHAKA: Social Welfare Adviser Sharmin S Murshid has pledged to provide Taka 50,000 in medical assistance to each of the 500 individuals injured during the anti-discrimination student movement that took place between July and August. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the assurance was given during a meeting with Afroza Helen, the president of Police Nari Kallyan Samity (PUNAK), at the adviser's ministry office. During the discussion, Helen highlighted the mental, physical, and financial challenges faced by the injured, who are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals and clinics. Adviser Murshid expressed her commitment to supporting the injured individuals, including efforts towards their rehabilitation. The meeting was attended by Social Welfare Secretary Dr. Md Mohiuddin, Special Officer to the Health Adviser Tuhin Farabi, Joint Secretary of PUNAK Tawhida Nupur, and other relevant officials.
