Cumilla: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) conducted a drive and seized smuggled goods worth Taka 2.54 crore from different border areas of the district this morning. A team from Sultanpur BGB-60 Battalion undertook the operation in the Brahmanpara and Burichang upazilas of the district, confiscating high-quality Indian sarees, food items, fireworks, and mobile displays.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Sultanpur BGB Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Md. Ziaur Rahman stated that the BGB’s regular patrols, intelligence activities, and operations are ongoing efforts to maintain security and prevent smuggling in the border area. He emphasized that BGB members consistently play a responsible role in suppressing smuggling and maintaining law and order in the border regions.
Lieutenant Colonel Rahman assured that such operations will continue in the future to safeguard the area. He added that the process of handing over the seized goods to the concerned authorities for further legal action is currently underway.
