Dhaka: Six dengue patients died and 1,083 were admitted to different hospitals in the country during the past 24 hours till this morning. “During the period, 84 dengue patients were hospitalised in Barishal division, 107 in Chattogram, 280 in Dhaka division, 244 in Dhaka North city while 115 in Dhaka South, 145 in Khulna, 58 in Rajshahi, 36 in Mymensingh, four in Sylhet and 10 were admitted to different hospitals in Rangpur division,” said a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the total number of cases this year has risen to 81,068, with 421 deaths reported due to dengue disease. These figures highlight the ongoing struggle the country faces in managing the outbreak. Last year, the country recorded 1,705 dengue-related deaths and a total of 3,21,179 dengue cases, indicating a significant health challenge.
