Rajshahi: A mobile court of the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI), Rajshahi Divisional Office, today fined Taza Live Bakery Tk 10,000 for producing, selling, and distributing confectionery items without the required approval. The mobile court conducted the drive in Shaheb Bazar area of the city and was led by Executive Magistrate Sehreen Tabassum Tithi.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Engineer Junaid Ahmed, Officer of the Certification Marks Wing of the BSTI Divisional Office, acted as the prosecutor during the drive. Members of the Rajshahi Metropolitan Police were also present to ensure the smooth execution of the operation.
BSTI officials emphasized that such drives would continue regularly in the public interest to prevent food adulteration and ensure the supply of quality food products. The authorities are committed to maintaining strict surveillance to protect consumers from unauthorized food production and distribution practices.
