Chattogram: A Chinese-flagged ship carrying over 34,000 tonnes of diesel from Malaysia has arrived at Chattogram Port’s Dolphin Jetty for unloading. The vessel, identified as Shan Gang Fa Jian, docked at Dolphin Jetty No. 6 in Patenga at around 1:00 pm on Sunday, as confirmed by Syed Refayet Hamim, Secretary of the Chattogram Port Authority.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nazrul Islam, managing partner of the local agent Pride Shipping Lines, stated that the oil tanker reached the outer anchorage of Chattogram Port at around 10:00 pm on Friday, April 3. The vessel underwent four lightering operations to reduce its draft before successfully berthing at the Dolphin Jetty on Sunday afternoon. The unloading process is expected to be completed within two days.

Nazrul Islam also mentioned that there are ongoing efforts to import fuel oil from new countries to supplement the existing supply, indicating a strategic move to diversify and strengthen fuel resources.
