Dhaka: Social Welfare Adviser Sharmeen S Murshid distributed blankets overnight among floating and helpless people at Kamalapur Railway Station, the ministry announced today in a press release.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Social Welfare Ministry has been providing services through its offices to poor people in remote areas of the country for social integration and the improvement of their lives. The press release quoted Sharmeen S Murshid, mentioning the ongoing efforts of the ministry to support the underprivileged through various welfare-oriented projects.
Murshid interacted with the floating population during the blanket distribution, inquiring about their wellbeing. The initiative was supported by Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Mamtaz Ahmed, Secretary of Social Welfare Affairs Dr. Md Mahiuddin, and other officials.
