Faridpur: BNP Organizing Secretary Shama Obaid today announced plans for comprehensive initiatives aimed at ensuring quality education for women if the BNP assumes power. “Grassroots women must be empowered, and their work must be properly organized. Their security must be ensured,” she stated during a women’s rally at the Shaheed Akramunnesa Girls’ High School grounds in Nagarkanda Upazila.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shama criticized the lack of participatory elections under what she described as the fascist regime of Sheikh Hasina. She pointed out the absence of real elections in the country over the past 17 years, emphasizing that people were unable to vote in 2018 and in the dummy election of 2024. She urged for collective efforts to ensure the victory of the BNP candidate in future elections.

Shama also outlined the BNP’s planned social initiatives, stating that if the party comes to power, efforts will be made to uplift people from all walks of life. She mentioned the introduction of a family card for farmer households, which will be registered under the name of female members to enhance respect for women within the family.

The rally was presided over by Nargis Akhter, joint secretary of the Mohila Dal’s Nagarkanda upazila unit.
