London: Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr Shafiqur Rahman underscored the need for strengthening spiritual unity among ulamas or Islamic scholars to work together in the days to come. “Ulamas need spiritual unity to avoid different opinions over several little issues. If there is spiritual (Ruhani) unity, we will receive unlimited blessings from the Almighty Allah. We want unity,” he said.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shafiqur made these remarks while speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchanging meeting organized by ‘Bangladeshi Ulama Mashaikh UK’, an all-party ulama platform of Britain, held on November 11 at Maedah Grill Hall in London. He emphasized that religion belongs to everyone and stressed the importance of fighting for the ‘Deen’ of Islam collectively, not seeking recognition or status, but viewing everyone as brothers and friends to move forward.
Shafiqur encouraged Islamic scholars to identify the organization’s mistakes and foster mutual doa, love, and cooperation to progress
. He highlighted Britain’s role as a center of intellectual practice in the world and noted that Islamic scholars in Britain enjoy more freedom compared to Bangladesh, urging them to spread their knowledge widely.
He advised that the conducive environment in Britain provides more opportunities for practicing and sharing their intellectual merits.
