Septuagenarian Killed in Satkhira Road Accident

Satkhira: A septuagenarian was killed when a motorcycle hit him on the Satkhira-Khulna highway at Milon Bazar area last night. The deceased was Mohor Ali, 70, who hailed from Uttar Katiya of the district.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred around 9pm as Mohor Ali was crossing the busy highway. Eyewitness Gouro Datta stated that Ali was struck by a motorcycle, leading to his critical condition.



Following the accident, Ali was promptly rescued and taken to Satkhira CB Hospital. However, despite the efforts of medical staff, the on-duty doctor declared him dead around 12am.



The motorcyclist involved in the accident was identified as Tanjim Ahamed, a resident of old Satkhira.



Officer-in-charge of Satkhira Sadar Police Station, Shaminul Haque, mentioned, “No formal complaint has been filed regarding the accident. However, we will take the necessary legal steps after receiving the complaint.”
