Dhaka: A seminar titled 'Higher Studies in France' was held at Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban on the Dhaka University (DU) campus today, highlighting scopes of higher education in the European country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), an organization aimed at improving DU's position in the world university rankings, organized the program with support from the Expertise France Group and the Campus France Bangladesh. The IQAC Director, Prof M Razaul Islam, chaired the event, while France Ambassador to Bangladesh Marie Masdupuy attended as the chief guest.
Naasiba Hossain, the country head of Campus France Bangladesh, presented an article on higher studies in France, and Prof K M Azad, Director of the International Centre for Ocean Governance, delivered the vote of thanks. The seminar included a question and answer session involving teachers and students from various departments.
Speaking as a special guest, DU Pro-Vice Chancellor (Administration) Prof Sayema Haque Bidisha highlighted the significance of such events in providing students with guidelines for pursuing higher education abroad. She emphasized the importance of academic and research exchanges between the countries to strengthen mutual relations.
In response, Ambassador Marie Masdupuy assured support for Bangladeshi students aiming for higher studies in France. She urged students to seek guidance from the France Embassy and recognized institutions, cautioning against fraudulent consultancies by virtual groups.
