Seeds and Fertilizers Distributed Among 600 Farmers in Kishoreganj Under Incentive Programme

Kishoreganj: Vegetable seeds and chemical fertilizers were distributed today among 600 farmers of Pakundia upazila under the agricultural incentive programme. The Upazila Agriculture Department led this initiative to encourage local farmers to cultivate vegetables on their land.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Billal Hossain handed over the incentives to the farmers at a function organized by the Upazila Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) in front of the Upazila Public Library auditorium this afternoon. The event witnessed the presence of Upazila Agriculture Officer Noor-e-Alam, along with DAE officials Hafiza Akhter and Swarna Chakraborty.



DAE office sources revealed that a total of 360 farmers from nine unions and one municipality of the upazila were provided with 10 kg each of DAP and MOP fertilizers under the incentive programme for the 2025-26 fiscal year. In addition to fertilizers, 70 farmers received gourd seeds, 140 were given brinjal seeds, 50 received sweet pumpkin seeds, and 100 farmers were provided with cucumber seeds.



Furthermore, 240 farmers received a variety of vegetable seeds, including spinach, red leaf, peas, gourd, and radish, aimed at building family nutrition gardens. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to enhance agricultural productivity and support local farmers in Kishoreganj.
