Security tightened across country for Eid: RAB chief

Security measures have been tightened across the country, including around Eidgah grounds, to avert any untoward incidents during the celebration of the holy Eid-ul-Azha, said Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General (DG) M Khurshid Hossain today.

“There is no specific security threat centering the Eid-ul-Azha. This year, RAB did not receive any complaint of extortion from cattle markets and cattle-laden vehicles,” he said while replying to journalists after inspecting security measures at the Jatiya Eidgah ground.

RAB’s Legal and Media Wing Director Commander Khandaker Al Moin, RAB-3 Commanding Officer Lt Col Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed, commanding officers of other battalions of RAB and officers of various ranks of RAB headquarters were present.

Khurshid Hossain said RAB's intelligence activities have been enhanced in its overall security measures across the country.

“We remain alert about any evil efforts like sabotage. Adequate measures have been taken. We hope, like every year, we can celebrate Eid in a beautiful environment this time too,” the RAB DG said.
