Rangpur: Scout leaders at a post-rally discussion today emphasized that scouting helps youngsters build a disciplined and peaceful life, inspired by the spirit of wisdom, perseverance, and human qualities.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the leaders expressed these views during a discussion arranged to observe the fourth Bangladesh Scouts Day-2025. The event, themed ‘Courageous and Responsible Future Generation,’ was held at the District Scouts Building in the city. The Rangpur district unit of Bangladesh Scouts organized a rally through the city streets, accompanied by various programs including the national flag hoisting, quiz competitions, and prize distribution.

District Scout Commissioner Md. Mahbubar Rahman presided over the discussion, which saw participation from Cub Scouts, Scouts, Rover Scouts, and Unit leaders from various educational institutions in the city. Among the speakers were Scouts Leader Trainer Md. Siddiqur Rahman, Assistant Director of Bangladesh Scouts Sudhir Chandra Barman, Executive Magistrate Tarek Hasan Tahsin, and District Scout Secretary Md. Abdur Rahim.

The speakers highlighted the importance of young students engaging in scouting alongside their academic and extra-curricular activities to develop into honest, worthy, and patriotic citizens. Siddiqur Rahman pointed out that the disciplined and systematic lifestyle fostered through scouting can significantly contribute to building a knowledge-based and enlightened society, free from drugs and social issues.

Mahbubar Rahman remarked that scouting aids in the physical, intellectual, social, spiritual, and mental development of young boys and girls, enabling them to live as responsible citizens within both national and international communities. He further added that the aim of the scouting method and the scout movement is to nurture teenagers into trustworthy, honest, virtuous, and disciplined citizens dedicated to serving society and alleviating human suffering.
