Dhaka: The Supreme Court (SC) today suspended Mohammad Nazrul Islam, a bench assistant of the Rajshahi Senior Judicial Magistrate court, for his involvement in corruption, as stated in a press release from the SC.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the suspension was initiated following an online media report detailing allegations of bribery and irregularities against Mohammad Nazrul Islam. In response to these allegations, the Supreme Court acted in accordance with the 12-point directives issued by the Chief Justice to combat corruption, leading to the temporary suspension of the bench assistant.
The High Court Division has instructed the Rajshahi District Judge to conduct an investigation into these allegations and submit a report within 30 days. Additionally, actions have been initiated against Mohammad Nazrul Islam under the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Act.
