The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court today stayed bail of Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna in a sedition case.
A four-member Appellate Division panel headed by Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha passed the order, staying Manna's bail till November 27.
Earlier on September 4, the apex court stayed Manna's bail till October 30 and asked the state to file a leave to appeal petition. Following the state plea, the court today stayed the bail again and set November 27 for further hearing.
The apex court on November 14, stayed Manna's bail till November 27 in a case lodged for inciting the armed forces to topple the government. Now hearing on bail in both the cases will be held on that day.
