SC goes into vacation tomorrow

DHAKA, Dec 17, 2016 (BSS) - Supreme Court (SC) is scheduled to go into 15-day recess tomorrow, leaving the vacation benches and court of Chamber Judge to deal with the urgent matters at the High Court and Appellate Division.

Chief Justice has already constituted 20 vacation benches at the High Court to dispose the urgent matters till January 1, 2017. A notice was issued on December 14, signed by High Court Division deputy registrar (administration and judicial) Md Azizul Haque in this regard.

Meanwhile, Appellate Division has issued another notice signed by its additional registrar Arunava Chakraborty on December 11, stating Justice Md Nizamul Huq has been nominated as the vacation judge to dispose of the urgent matters at the Appellate Division during the vacation.

"Justice Md Nizamul Huq will hold hearing at the Chamber Court on December 20 and 27," said the notice.

The apex court will resume its regular operation on January 2, 2017.
