Manikdi Nampura:Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed announced the arrest of three individuals in connection with the vandalism at content creator Salman Muqtadir's studio. The initial investigation suggests the attack was linked to a land dispute.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the incident occurred in the Manikdi Nampura area under Cantonment Police Station, where a dispute over approximately 35 kathas of land is ongoing. The studio was located on this contested land.
The home minister identified one of the involved parties as New Guinea Properties, a developer, while the other party has connections to a senior retired military officer. Preliminary reports indicate that a group attempted to seize the land on behalf of the retired officer, causing damage to several structures, including Muqtadir's tin-shed studio.
Police responded to the scene following a national emergency service call, leading to the arrest of three individuals. Evidence collected from the location included spent bullet casings and locally made weapons.
Ahmed stated that a thorough investigation is underway, with legal proceedings being initiated. Although allegations of extortion have surfaced, no formal complaint has been filed by Muqtadir, who confirmed that no extortion demands were made.
The minister emphasized that while the initial investigation has been completed, further details will be disclosed as the investigation and legal proceedings continue.
