Stockholm:Bangladeshi adventurer Najmun Nahar has been awarded the 'Bangladesh Flag Voyager Gold Medal' in recognition of her global travels carrying Bangladesh's national flag and her humanitarian efforts.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the award was presented by Multi Talent World during the Bangla Talent Global Summit 2026, which took place on September 19 at Nya R¥gsved Folkets Hus in Stockholm, Sweden. Nahar is noted for being the first Bangladeshi and the first woman in the world to visit 185 countries while carrying her national flag.
The accolade acknowledges Nahar's exceptional journey and her dedication to promoting peace, humanity, environmental protection, women's empowerment, and children's rights. The citation for the medal highlights her bravery, perseverance, and patriotism in showcasing Bangladesh's red-and-green flag across various continents and cultures.
Nahar's contributions to humanitarian causes, such as her advocacy for peace, environmental responsibility, and the rights of disadvantaged and war-affected children, were also celebrated. Her impressive list of recognitions includes more than 70 national and international awards, among them the Peace Torch Bearer Award in the United States.
The Gold Medal presentation was conducted by Salahuddin Zico, managing director of Multi Talent World, with Swedish parliamentarians Stefan Nelson and Farzana Khan, as well as academics, media professionals, and Bangladeshi community leaders from across Europe in attendance.
At the summit, Nahar also delivered a keynote speech, sharing insights from her 26-year global journey, the challenges of traveling with the Bangladesh national flag, and her enduring message of peace, solidarity, and humanity. This latest honor marks another significant milestone in her distinguished journey, underscoring her commitment to a universal message for humanity.
