Salman for acquiring technical knowledge to implement ‘Smart Bangladesh’

Prime Minister's Private Sector Industry and Investment Adviser Salman F Rahman today underscored the need for skilled human resources with technical knowledge to implement 'Smart Bangladesh'.

"There is no alternative to skilled human resources with technical knowledge in the implementation of 'Smart Bangladesh. It will be difficult to face the challenges of LDC graduation without technology-based skilled human resources," he added.

Salman F Rahman told reporters after a meeting on 'Policy Dialogue on Road Map Smart Bangladesh' at Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) office in the city, said a press release.

Salman urged all to be careful not to fall into the middle income trap like Sri Lanka, Pakistan or many other countries.

In order to reach the goal of Smart Bangladesh, he said, apart from smart citizens, extensive work needs to be done on education and health sector.

During the meeting, State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said Bangladesh now has the basic soft infrastructure of mobile networks, e-services, smart cards etc.

"A service eco-system stands on this basis. We can raise it vertically. Promising progress has been made in all areas. As a result, we can definitely achieve our goal by 2041," he added.
