Dhaka: The state-run Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) will commence the sale of commodities through 60 mobile trucks in the Dhaka metropolitan area starting tomorrow. This initiative will run alongside the corporation’s regular operations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the TCB is currently offering edible oil, sugar, and lentils at subsidized rates to smart family card holders. From August 10 to September 13, 2025, these mobile trucks will continue to operate for 30 days, excluding Fridays, to sell TCB products.
In addition to Dhaka, mobile truck sales will also take place in other metropolitan cities and districts. Chattogram Metropolitan City will have 25 trucks, Gazipur Metropolitan City will have 6, Cumilla Metropolitan City will have 3, Dhaka District will have 8, Cumilla District will have 12, Faridpur District will have 4, Patuakhali District will have 5, and Bagerhat District will have 5 trucks. These operations will run from August 10 to August 31, 2025, for 19 days excluding Fri
days.
Each truck is set to serve 500 people daily with commodities at affordable prices. Consumers are welcome to purchase products from these trucks, which will offer edible oil (2 liters) at Taka 230, sugar (1 kg) at Taka 80, and lentils (2 kg) at Taka 140. Prices for smart family card holders will remain unchanged.
