Saifuddin Brilliance Puts Bangladesh in Hong Kong Sixes Semis.

Hong Kong: Mohammad Saifuddin came up with a brilliant all-round performance to help Bangladesh move to the semi-final of the Hong Kong International Sixes, beating the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 18 runs on DLS method today. Opting to bat first, Bangladesh put on 111-1 in the stipulated six overs with Saifuddin hammering 36 off nine balls, an innings studded with five sixes and one four.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Jishan Ahmed made 34 off 17 balls while Abdullah Al Mamun scored 31 off 11 to complement Saifuddin’s explosive performance. The UAE reached 43-3 in 3.2 overs before bad light brought a premature end to the game, at which point Bangladesh was ahead by 18 runs on the DLS method. Saifuddin also took two wickets from the three that had fallen.

In their first match, Bangladesh, led by Yasir Ali Chowdhury Rabbi, beat Oman but then conceded defeat to Sri Lanka. Bangladesh is set to face Sri Lanka again in the semifinal tomorrow. Alongside Bangladesh, Sri Lanka also secured a spot in the
last four after beating Nepal.
