Dhaka: Rugby coaches training course begins tomorrow at the outer stadium adjoining the national stadium with the participation of twenty-eight new trainees from the academies. Bangladesh Rugby Federation Union (BRFU) president Mohammad Riazul Alim will formally open the two-day course as the chief guest.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event will see the presence of BRFU general secretary Akhtar-Uz-Zaman, its vice-president Mousum Ali, course coordinator and Joint Secretary Sayed Ahmed, among others, at the opening ceremony. The course will conclude with a certificate distribution ceremony on Saturday.
The training will be conducted by Asia rugby regional development manager Mahfizul Islam. World Rugby Educator and Level-2 coach Shahriar Hossain Adra will serve as the assistant instructor. Sports organizer and World Rugby Level-1 coach and referee Md. Zahirul Islam will provide overall support in conducting the course.
The BRFU has initiated a plan to bring registered football academies from different districts of the country under the federation's umbrella. This initiative aims to develop new rugby coaches and expand the sport's reach within the country.
