RUET Organizes Prayer Ceremony to Honor July Uprising Martyrs

Rajshahi: Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) held a doa mahfil, a prayer ceremony, after Zuhr prayers today at its central Jame Mosque in remembrance of the July uprising martyrs. The event saw the attendance of various university officials, including Students Welfare Director Prof Rabiul Islam, Research and Extension Director Prof Abdul Khaleque, and several faculty deans and departmental heads.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Pesh Imam of RUET Central Jame Mosque, Nazmul Alam, led the doa mahfil, seeking the blessings of almighty Allah for the eternal peace of the departed souls of the martyrs. Prof Rabiul Islam highlighted the significance of the July movement, attributing its success to the collective efforts of all involved.



“The unrest from July 1 to August 5, 2024, resulted in numerous casualties and injuries in the country, and we have achieved a more equitable Bangladesh through their sacrifice,” Prof Islam noted. He further emphasized the importance of unity in building a discrimination-free Bangladesh, urging everyone to work together, setting aside all divisions.



Prof Islam paid tribute to those who were martyred and injured during the July Revolution, also referred to as the Student-People’s mass uprising, acknowledging their sacrifice for the nation’s progress.
