Rajshahi: Rajshahi University (RU) has launched the "Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Research Centre" to offer healthcare services for pet and domestic animals for the first time.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Veterinary and Animal Sciences Faculty and the Department of Veterinary and Animal Sciences at RU will jointly provide free healthcare services for pets through the newly established center located adjacent to the Agriculture Faculty Building. The center is set to operate from 9 am to 4 pm, Sunday to Thursday, offering practical teaching to students alongside its healthcare services.
Dr. Hemayetul Islam, Director of the center, stated that healthcare services will be extended to most domestic and pet animals, such as cattle, goats, poultry birds, dogs, and cats, at no cost. He emphasized that the hospital will be beneficial for students, farmers, and the general public.
