Rangpur: Rangpur Sahitya-Sanskriti Parishad (RSSP) commenced its 23rd founding anniversary celebrations today with a two-day engaging programme on the city’s Town Hall premises. The event began with a painting and poetry recitation competition, overseen by former RSSP president, writer, and educationist Professor Mohammad Shah Alam.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the opening day also featured an evening cultural programme highlighted by RSSP songs. Nighttime activities included poetry recitation, poetry reading, and a discussion at the same venue. Distinguished speakers at the discussion included Rangpur Cultural Unity Council president Chowdhury Mahmudun Nabi Dollar, former RSSP presidents Dr. Mofizul Islam Mantu, Md Anwarul Islam, Swattik Shah Al Maruf, and current president Dr. Nasima Akhter, among others.
RSSP general secretary Mamun Ur Rashid Mamun orchestrated the entire programme. The celebrations will conclude tomorrow with a general meeting at the Town Hall, accompanied by a special literary meeting, discussion, magazine cover unveiling, medal presentation, prize distribution, and a cultural program scheduled for the afternoon.
