RSSP Hosts Its 1257th Literary Meeting in Rangpur

Rangpur: The 1257th literary meeting of the Rangpur Sahitya-Sangskriti Parishad (RSSP) took place at its Town Hall office on Friday, drawing a large assembly of poets, writers, artists, and cultural activists. The event was presided over by the organization’s president, Dr. Nasima Akter, an esteemed educationist.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the program featured a presentation by Professor Mohammad Shah Alam, who delivered a paper on the topic “Sports and Cultural Activities to Maintain Social Harmony.” His insights underscored the importance of integrating sports and cultural engagements to foster societal cohesion.



In addition to the presentation, the meeting showcased a variety of literary performances. Professor Atahar Ali Khan captivated the audience by reciting and analyzing his own poems, while Advocate Masum Hasan paid homage to the revered poet Rabindranath Tagore by reciting his works. The session also included several poets who shared their self-composed pieces, and Sharif Ahmed entertained attendees with his musical compositions.



Adding to the event’s highlights, Poet Sufi Zahid Hossain presented his poetry book “Tumi, Ami, Prem” as a gift to the organization, enriching the literary resources of the RSSP. The entire program was adeptly moderated by the general secretary, Mamun Ur Rashid, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all participants.
