The RastriyaSwatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane has sought a withdrawal of all the writ petitions against him filed at the Supreme Court (SC).

In his written response submitted to the SC, Lamichhane demanded the revocation of the writ petition against the decision of the Office of the Attorney General, which had furnished its decision that there was no evidence to lodge a case against Lamichhane in regard to misuse of Nepali passport.

The SC, after hearing on the writ petition demanding the annulment of the decision of the Attorney General that Lamichhane could not be prosecuted in the charge of misuse of passport, had demanded a written response from Lamichhane.

YubarajSafal had filed a writ petition against Lamichhane at the SC demanding annulment of the decision of the Office of the Attorney General not to pursue a case against Lamichhane. After hearing on the petition, the constitutional bench of the SC had ordered a show cause and demanded a written reply from Lamichhane.

In the written reply, Lamichhane, also former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Home Affairs, said the SC had already issued an order on the case of citizenship dispute and he had completed the processes to obtain citizenship of Nepal.

He asserted that he had never committed an offense against the Passport Act and has never done anything wrong to harm others by obtaining a passport.
