RpMP Seizes Auto-Rickshaws in Traffic Crackdown

Rangpur: Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) filed 59 cases and seized illegal 65 auto-rickshaws in special drives conducted today to relieve traffic congestion and ensure safe movement of the public across the city.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the special drive was conducted under the direction of RpMP Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Mabud to relieve traffic congestion, maintain order on the roads, and control the movement of illegal auto-rickshaws in the metropolis, as mentioned in a press release.



Special check post drives were carried out on important roads and points of the city under the leadership of Deputy Police Commissioner (Traffic) Maruf Ahmed. Legal action was taken against auto-rickshaws violating traffic laws and illegally plying.



During the operation, 59 cases were filed, 65 auto-rickshaws were seized, and 23 auto-rickshaws were wrecked. The press release also mentioned that regular drives will continue against illegal auto-rickshaws and traffic violators to restore order on the roads of Rangpur metropolitan, control traffic congestion, and ensure safe and smooth movement of the public.
