Royal Selangor Polo and Equestrian Club Officially Opened by Sultan

Kuala Lumpur:Selangor The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, officially inaugurated the Royal Selangor Polo and Equestrian Club (RSPEC) today. The ceremony was part of the festivities marking the Silver Jubilee of his reign.

According to BERNAMA News Agency, the Sultan, along with the Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, arrived at the venue at 9.40 am and was warmly welcomed by RSPEC president Datuk Syed Budriz Putra Jamalullail.

The RSPEC highlighted that the royal visit emphasized the club's status as a top-tier sporting destination, boasting a rich equestrian legacy and offering numerous recreational and community-focused activities. The club aims to enhance sports development and promote sports tourism in Selangor.

During their visit, Sultan Sharafuddin and Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin were given a tour of the club's facilities, which include a polo field with a surrounding one-kilometre sand track, 136 horse stalls, and both indoor and outdoor arenas. These amenities are designed to international standards, positioning Selangor as a capable host for prestigious regional and domestic tournaments.
