Opposition Leader Begum Rowshan Ershad urged all irrespective of party
affiliation and opinion to come forward in saving the young generation from
the menace of drug abuse.
In a statement today, she said youths in cities, towns and villages are
becoming addicted to drugs.
"Our future generation is going towards darkness due to drug abuse. They are
being derailed. We will have to save our youths from the menace," she said.
Rowshan Ershad urged the government to put highest emphasis on building a
society free from drug abuse.
Concerned officials should intensify their efforts to this end," she said,
adding that today drug abuse is not a personal problem rather it is a social
problem.
The opposition leader said exemplary punishment should be given to drug
peddlers.
Not only the government but also all irrespective of party affiliation and
opinion should come forward to eliminate drug abuse, she said.
