Sylhet: The game between Dhaka Metro and Dhaka Division was left in parity after Rony Talukdar and Shuvagata Hom spearheaded Dhaka Division’s fightback following a challenging start at the Sylhet Academy Ground today. Resuming the day at 233-6, Metro were bowled out for 304. Dhaka Division managed to reach 254-6 at stumps, still trailing by 50 runs, but positioned to take a first innings lead with Shuvagata Hom at the crease.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shuvagata Hom remained unbeaten on 60, providing hope for Dhaka Division to surpass Metro’s total. Most of the Dhaka Division batters got starts but failed to convert them into substantial scores, putting the team in a precarious situation. Rony Talukdar stood out with a resilient 54 off 122 balls, including seven fours and one six, before his dismissal.
Following Rony’s departure, Shuvagata assumed responsibility to steer the innings. At the close of play, Nazmul Islam Apu was also at the crease on 21, alongside Shuvagata. Earlier, Dhaka Metro
added only 71 runs to their overnight total, with Tahjibul Islam contributing the bulk of the runs, scoring 63 before his dismissal. Anamul Haque and Shuvagata took four wickets each for Dhaka Division, aiding their team’s fightback.
