Rajshahi:Speakers at a discussion marking World Teachers' Day highlighted the crucial role teachers play in creating a knowledge-based, humane, and prosperous society.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event underscored the importance of teachers in inspiring students with not just academic knowledge, but also with values such as morality, humanitarianism, and patriotism. It was emphasized that ensuring the professional security and societal respect for teachers is vital.
Moreover, the speakers stressed the need for providing teachers with up-to-date training and the use of modern technology in education to ensure quality teaching. They also called for creating a favorable working environment for educators.
The event was organized by the Rajshahi District Administration and held at the conference room of the Deputy Commissioner's office. The theme for this year's World Teachers' Day was 'Beside Teachers: Protecting the profession, enhancing its dignity and 60 years of building our future.'
The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner Naharul Islam, was attended by Rajshahi District Education Officer Zayedur Rahman, educational institution heads, teachers, and officials. The participants collectively emphasized the importance of working together to enhance the quality of education.
