Road Accident on Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj Highway Claims Three Lives

Rajshahi: Three people, including two women, were killed and three others sustained injuries in a truck-ambulance collision in the Rajabari area on the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway under Godagari upazila of the district this morning.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the deceased have been identified as Jafar Iqbal Jewel, 45, who was the driver of the ambulance, and its passengers, Sundari Rani, 65, a cardiac patient, and Aduri Rani, 38, both from Godagari upazila. The tragic incident occurred as the ambulance was transporting a cardiac patient to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH).

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Godagari Police Station Ruhul Amin reported that the accident took place when the ambulance collided head-on with a truck in the area. The collision resulted in the immediate deaths of the ambulance driver and two passengers, while three other individuals sustained injuries.

"Being informed, a team of Fire Service and Civil Defense rushed to the spot and took the injured to the RMCH," stated OC Ruhul Amin. He further mentioned that the bodies will be handed over to their respective families following necessary autopsy procedures.
