Dhaka: The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-1 has scheduled October 15 for the submission of the probe report concerning a crimes against humanity case involving 45 former ministers, advisers, secretaries, and others linked to the July-August Mass Uprising. The tribunal's three-member panel, headed by Justice Md Golam Mortuza Mozumder, granted the prosecution's request for additional time to prepare the report.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam participated in the hearing on this matter. Among the accused, several prominent figures such as former minister Anisul Huq, Faruk Khan, Dr Dipu Moni, Abdur Razzaque, Golam Dastagir Gazi, Amir Hossain Amu, Qamrul Islam, Rashed Khan Menon, Hasanul Haque Inu, Tawfiq-e-Elahi Chowdhury, Salman F Rahman, Kamal Ahmed Mazumder, Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Justice AHM Shamsuddin Chowdhury Manik, and Jahangir Alam were present in the court today.
The tribunal had previously issued arrest warrants on October 17 for all 45 individuals, including Obaidul Quader, in connection to their alleged roles during the uprising. The case has garnered significant attention due to the high-profile nature of the accused and the serious charges they face.
