Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 31.9 percent reaching US$771 million in the first seven days of September, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, last year, during the same period, the country’s remittance inflow was $585 million. This significant increase highlights the positive trend in remittance growth, underscoring the financial contributions of expatriates to the national economy.
During the period from July 2025 to September 7, 2025, of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances totaling $5,671 million. This marks an increase from the $4,722 million recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year. This upward trend reflects a robust growth in remittance inflow, which plays a crucial role in bolstering the country’s foreign exchange reserves.
