Dhaka: The country's remittance inflow saw a 13.3 percent increase year-on-year, reaching $922 million in the first 11 days of May. This figure marks a significant rise compared to the same period last year.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the latest data from Bangladesh Bank (BB) revealed that the country received $814 million in remittances during the corresponding period last year. This increase highlights the growing contribution of expatriates to the nation's economy.
In the current fiscal year, expatriates have sent $25,459 million in remittances from July 2024 to May 11, 2025. This is a noticeable rise from the $19,933 million received during the same timeframe in the previous fiscal year. The consistent growth in remittance inflows underscores the importance of overseas workers in supporting the country's economic stability.
