Dhaka: Inflow of remittances witnessed a year-on-year growth of 17.7 percent, reaching US$2,417 million in the first 22 days of April, according to the latest data of Bangladesh Bank (BB) issued today. This marks a significant increase compared to the same period last year, where the remittance inflow was $2,053 million.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, from July to April 22 of the current fiscal year, expatriates sent remittances totaling $28,626 million. This figure reflects a substantial rise from the $23,839 million recorded during the same period of the previous fiscal year. The steady increase in remittance inflow underscores the vital role of expatriates in bolstering the country's economy.
