Referendum Crucial for Bangladesh’s Future, Says Land Adviser

Bagerhat: Land Adviser Ali Imam Majumder today emphasized the significance of the upcoming referendum as a pivotal moment for Bangladesh’s governance. Speaking at a large gathering organized by the district administration at the Dargah Hat ground near Khan Jahan Ali (R.A.) Shrine, Majumder described the referendum, set for February 12, as a milestone for the nation’s future.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Majumder, who also oversees the food ministry, highlighted that this referendum will be crucial in capturing the people’s views and would pave the way for establishing a democratic, accountable, and responsible state system. He elaborated on the ‘July Charter’, describing it as more than just a document, but rather an essential framework to ensure democracy, good governance, and civil rights in Bangladesh.

Majumder further stated that a stable and strong state could be achieved through the proper implementation of the July Charter. He expressed his confidence that citizens would participate actively in the referendum, urging every conscious citizen to vote ‘yes’ to support the charter.

The event was also attended by Deputy Commissioner of Bagerhat district Golam Md Baten and Superintendent of Police Mohammad Hasan Chowdhury as special guests, further underscoring the importance of the referendum to the nation’s political landscape.
