Rajshahi: Administrator of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC), Mahfuzur Rahman Riton, handed over public awareness leaflets on measles prevention to the Director of Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital (RMCH), Brigadier General PKM Masud Ul Islam, on Saturday. Brig Gen PKM Masud Ul Islam stated that the leaflet would play an important role in raising awareness and would be distributed among the relevant visitors coming to the hospital.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended by Rajshahi Deputy Commissioner Kazi Shahidul Islam, RCC Chief Executive Officer Rezaul Karim, Chief Health Officer Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum, and other health-related officials. Due to the rising outbreak of measles across the country, RCC Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman has instructed that awareness messages on measles prevention be delivered to every household in the city.
Following his directive, an extensive public awareness leaflet distribution campaign on measles prevention began across all 30 wards of Rajshahi city area from Friday. Through this initiative, city residents are being informed about the symptoms of measles, preventive measures, necessary steps if infected, and the importance of ensuring timely vaccination for children.
As part of the RCC’s initiative, workers are going door-to-door distributing leaflets among the general public and providing necessary advice to increase health awareness.
