Agriculture Minister Dr Muhammad Abdur Razzaque today termed agriculture as the main tool of poverty alleviation in the country.
“Agriculture is the biggest tool of poverty alleviation as most of the people in Bangladesh are still directly or indirectly dependent on agriculture,” he said.
The minister was speaking at the ‘RTV Krishi Padak 2021’ programme, organized by RTV at Bengal Multimedia Studio in city’s Tejgaon area as the chief guest.
He added that poverty of rural people will be further reduced and the living standard of the farmers will be improved if various modern agricultural activities including raising of cattle and poultry in little space and backyards of houses, cultivation of fruits and establishment of vegetable gardens are increased.
Fisheries and Livestock Minister SM Rezaul Karim was present as the special guest on the occasion.
RTV’s Chairman Alhaj Morshed Alam, MP and Chief Executive Officer of RTV Syed Ashik Rahman also spoke, among others.
