Dumuria: The seven-day Rath Yatra at Kalibati Durga Mandir field in Rangpur Union of Dumuria Upazila was peacefully concluded yesterday evening. Leaders of Khulna district Jubodal, led by its Convener Ibadul Haque Rubayed, joined the ceremony.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rubayed, who is also a BNP nomination aspirant from Khulna-5 (Dumuria-Fultala), emphasized communal harmony by stating, “Religion belongs to the individual, but Bangladesh belongs to everyone.” He further added, “Hindus and Muslims in this country are all brothers.”
In a gesture of solidarity, Rubayed personally joined in pulling the ropes of the chariot alongside Hindu devotees. Apurbo Mallick from the organizing committee praised Rubayed’s consistent support, noting that Rubayed stands with them not just during Rath Yatra, but in all their religious festivals.
District BNP, Sramikdal, and Jubodal leaders including Nitai Mondol, Sheikh Sarwar Hossain, Khan Ismail Hossain, Waeduzzaman Sohag, Ziadul Haque Ziad, Master Ayub Ahmed, Khokon Talukder, Abdul Majid Joardar, Sheikh Zakir Hossain, Habibur Rahman Morol, Alamgir Hossain, Apurbo Mallick, Selim Morol, Sujon Sarkar, and student leaders Mohammad Touhidur Rahman and Faisal Chowdhury, among others, were present.
Rubayed concluded the program by symbolically pulling the rath rope together with male and female devotees and well-wishers.
