Rangpur division recorded 10.48 percent Covid-19 positivity rate as 11 fresh cases were diagnosed after testing 105 new samples on Tuesday.
Health officials said fresh Covid-19 cases have been reported every day since June 22 last in the division where another wave of the lethal virus is continuing now.
“With the diagnosis of the 11 fresh cases, the total number of Covid-19 patients rose to 64,821 in the division,” Divisional Director (Health) Dr. Abu Md. Zakirul Islam told BSS.
The total number of recovered Covid-19 patients rose to 62,988 with the healing of 24 more patients during the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today. The number of casualties remained steady at 1,287 as no new death was reported during the last 24 hours.
Meanwhile, more 15,116 doses of Covid-19 jabs were administered on Tuesday raising the total number of inoculated vaccines to three crore six lakh 61 thousand and 272 doses in the division.
“Among the total administered Covid-19 jabs, 1,35,67,566 doses were inoculated as the first doses, 1,29,71,162 as the second doses and 41,22,544 as the booster doses,” Dr. Islam added.
He especially urged people to sincerely abide by the health directives and hygiene rules as the pandemic situation continues to deteriorate in the division.
