Rangpur Ganosamhati Andolon Strongly Condemns Attack on Nur

Rangpur: The Rangpur district Ganosamhati Andolon has strongly condemned the atrocious attack on Gono Odhikar Parishad president and a top leader of the July Uprising, Nurul Haque Nur, in the capital on Friday. In a joint statement, Touhidur Rahman, convener of the Rangpur district of Gono Odhikar Parishad, and Mufakhkharul Islam Moon, member-secretary, expressed their strong condemnation and protest against the attack on the leaders and activists of Gono Odhikar Parishad, including its president, Nurul Haque Nur, and General Secretary Rashed Khan.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the statement emphasized that the attack on Nurul Haque Nur is unacceptable and constitutes a criminal offense. The leaders conveyed their wishes for a speedy recovery to Nur and his colleagues, urging immediate action against those responsible for the incident.



The statement highlighted that the attack was not only an assault on Nur but also on the spirit of the democratic movement against fascism, which unified the nation during the historic July Uprising 2024 and the ongoing struggle for justice and accountability. Nur was described as a resolute advocate for democracy and justice.



The leaders called on the interim government to conduct a comprehensive and fair inquiry into the attack, emphasizing its significance and the need to bring the perpetrators to justice. They demanded the immediate arrest of those involved in the attack and the banning of all fascist forces and their allies from participating in the politics of the new Bangladesh, which emerged from the July Uprising 2024.
