RAJUK orders 11 residential buildings to stop commercial set-ups

DHAKA, May 24, 2017 (BSS) - As part of the eviction drive against unauthorized commercial activities in the planned residential areas, the Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) today asked the owners of 11 multi-storied residential buildings in the city's Banani area to stop commercial use of their buildings within one month.

The drive started around 11 this morning from Banani residential areas at road no-8 with ordering to stop commercial set-ups in the 11 buildings within one month aimed at protecting its residential character and environment.

Executive Magistrate of RAJUK Khandoker Oliur Rahman led the drive with the help of police, also evicted illegal structures built on the car parking areas from some residential houses in road no 3 and 5 at Banani.

The RAJUK authorities have vowed to conduct the eviction drive as part of their regular duties.
